Scriblink breaks 40,000!

Hi Everyone,

We are proud to announce that Scriblink's moving average of traffic has consistently stayed above 40,000 visitors a month! This represents a tremendous amount of growth for the site and has brought (and kept) us at the top of Google, MSN and Yahoo!.

We appreciate all the love you've shown us. This has been such a rewarding endeavor for us and we are happy to see it so well received. Thank you.

We have some huge announcements on the horizon but you're going to have to be patient. Thank you again for all of your support!

Best,
the Scriblink Team

Introducing math functions

Due to popular demand, Scriblink has added a new feature that allows you to enter math symbols and functions. To do this, simply click on the "Pi" symbol in the toolbar.

A new tabbed toolbar will appear to the left of the board, allowing you to choose between math symbols, functions, and unique characters. From here, simply click which symbol you want to use.

You'll notice that when you click a symbol, script will appear in dark purple. By typing directly into this text box, you can make entire equations using multiple symbols.

When you're ready, click on the image of the equation you created, wait a second, and it will appear onto the whiteboard in the same way any image you upload would.

If you need more direction, click on the help tab and read on.

Initiate hyperdrive...

Scriblink is officially moving at light speed...

Recent enhancements to our code have made Scriblink loading time 2-3x faster, making it that much easier for you to initialize and collaborate.

Image uploading has been improved
When you upload an image, you'll notice a blue border and "X" at the top right corner. Click anywhere on the blue border to relocate the image away from the center of the board or click on the "X" to get rid of the image all together.

Keep in mind: you can double click the image at any time to relocate it or delete it.

Scriblink Business Solutions goes live!

You've asked for it and now you've got it. We are proud to introduce Scriblink Business Solutions (SBS), a customizable web-app that allows you to implement tailored versions of Scriblink.

If you have a site that could use a whiteboard, why make it when we've already done it for you? With SBS, you get Scriblink in all of its greatness, hosted by us with enhanced tools that let you customize the page, add your own links, and set a passcode. It takes just minutes to set up!

To learn more, simply go to Scriblink Business Solutions. We also made a whiteboard for this blog so you can see the application in the wild. Just click the button at the bottom of the post.

Now go out there and do what you do best and leave the white-boarding to us.

Scriblink 2.0

First off, we'd like to thank everyone from all over the world who has written to us these past couple of months about improving Scriblink. Although we couldn’t implement all of your suggestions, we did listen to every one of them and we are proud to present to you a redesign of the Scriblink experience.

Here is a list of what's new:

1. A brand new toolbar with some enhancements.
We’ve made it a lot easier and intuitive to make full use of Scriblink. We ditched the drop downs and put everything you’ll need in the toolbar. You may notice a new button in the far right.

This arrow is for people with large monitors who want to make use of them with a bigger board. A word of caution: when you enlarge the board, it makes it bigger for everyone, so be mindful of the screen size of your collaborators. **note: this feature is scheduled to go live on Friday, June 27.

2. We dropped ads like a bad habit.
You may have noticed there aren't anymore ads. There's a simple explanation for this: we hate them. We’re totally committed to making your Scriblink experience seamless and simple, and the ads just kept getting in the way.

From time to time, people ask us if we ever plan to charge for Scriblink. The answer is no. Never.

For those of you wondering how the hell we make any money, we recently launched an API for Scriblink that allows people to implement customized versions of our whiteboard onto their own sites (see Business Solutions, also going live on June 27). These people keep the good times rolling for everyone else.

3. Voiping without the baggage
.
Perhaps our biggest enhancement to Scribink 2.0 is the addition of Voip conferencing, a feature that came at the behest of a loyal user named Chandra (who’s doing some innovative things of his own that we’ll share as soon as it’s ready).

If you (and your collaborator(s)) have a computer microphone, Scriblink will automatically drop you into your own private conference call. Best thing about it: it works straight from the browser and doesn't require software. It's free, it's simple, and you can talk to anyone anywhere in the world for as long as you like.

This technology is made possible by an innovative new company from England called PhoneFromHere, who is a pioneer in this space. We are eternally grateful to have them on board as a strategic partner and encourage everyone to check out their site and learn more about the solutions they offer.

Coming out of beta: send file & embedded name change

We have added a couple of exciting new features and changes to your Scriblink experience:

Send File is officially coming out of Beta. Well kind of... we've done all the testing we can and we think it's ready for the red carpet - but you never know if you can swim in the deep end until you take a dive.
No more Name Pop-up. That's right. In our never ending quest to make your Scriblink experience as seamless as possible, this has been one of our more recent frontiers. You can still change your name (which we highly encourage if you have multiple people on your board), only now its embedded in the top right of the screen where the users are displayed.

Have a suggestion or comment? We love hearing from our users and take EVERY piece of feedback seriously, so please let us know!
